A: Melanie Adams Proxy voting is an important way that we can influence change. For example, we are quite progressive on gender diversity and require that every board have at least two female board members. And we evaluate our guidelines on an annual basis. We update them and continue to make changes to keep moving the needle in this area. Q: Why is RBC Global Asset Management a leader in responsible investment? A: Damon Williams, Chief Executive Officer When I think about being a purpose-driven organization, I think about RBC’s purpose of helping clients thrive and communities prosper. ESG is a big part of that. If we do things for short-term gain without thinking about long- term consequences, we are not living up to our purpose. I see ESG as an integral part of living up to RBC’s purpose. To watch the full interviews with our ESG thought leaders and access more resources on ESG integration, visit rbcgam.com/ri.
